MU TECHNOLOGIES DIGITAL ASSEMBLY PLANT
The
Assembly Plant is located in Eldoret, at Rivatex, an existing Industrial Park
that allows several synergies between the various facilities within the park.
The Assembly Plant covers an area of 22,000 m2. It’s a State-of-the-Art manufacturing
facility with a capacity of producing over 1,000 devices in a single 8-hour
shift. A standby generator ensures that target production figures are achieved
with or without the commercial power supply.
The production line is designed to
manufacture various types of digital devices ranging from Smartphones, Tablets,
Notebooks and Laptops in compliance with the international normative references
that guarantee the best quality of the product.
The
Plant is designed to enable the inclusion of the production of other devices
and future increase in production capacity per hour. Likewise, an area was
created to install an SMT line for the production of devices on the existing
assembly line. This area has the capabilities to house all the additional diagnostic,
support and research equipment needed to obtain the required quality and
productivity of a state-of-the-art manufacturing process.
In
full realization of the fact that the Government as part of its “Big Four”
Development Agenda intends to increase the production of diversified products
in the country, and being a player in the industry and having set up an SKD
assembly unit, MU Technologies is fully focused to manufacture the required
electronic parts such as Motherboards or other electronic parts using the
Surface Mount Technology (SMT) line. This is one of the long-term objectives
which MU Technologies has put in place and would enhance growth of trade and
globalization.
